romanticizing tragedy

My mind has turned against me again. I feel the weight of the back and forth swings most when everything else is still. The high has worn off, and I’m stuck in the vestibule between thoughts and actions. Unplugged from the sun.

My optimism, coupled with a delusional understanding of the darkness around me, was never so much about romanticizing tragedy as much as it’s about the sheer necessity to survive the moment – a coping mechanism.
